Thread: Won't re-start after install - Grub Loading

i install of old version of ubuntu (9.1), after install system restarts , freezes on second screen words "grub loading". please excuse vagueness new @ this.

can give advice please

welcome ubuntu forums.

first, trying install version of ubuntu no longer supported. repositories (software source) no longer in it's original location , updates aren't available via normal methods. unless have specific need 9.10 of going recommend install supported version (lucid, maverick, natty). if need 'lighter' version, releases such current version of lubuntu might more suitable.

having said that, if want 9.10, perhaps can running. don't know why it's failing. 1 tool use troubleshoot boot issues script called boot info script.

if boot livecd , go site, can download script, extract , run it. instructions on linked site. generate file called results.txt. need see contents of file, show status of ubuntu boot files.

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
