Lightroom 4 hangs on import

i installed lightroom 4 on windows 7 computer, having problems it:

 

when start program , click on import button in lower left corner, program busy 1 minute , message windows program encountered error , needs close. screen changes before error message , displays "quelle wählen" (it german version of lr. translation "select source") in upper left corner.

 

i behaviour on every start of lightroom. tried several times reinstall lightroom , before last reinstall, removed lightroom references on hard disk.

 

 

i have installed lightroom 4.1 64 bit.

 

my computer running windows 7 ultimate sp 1, has 4 gb ram, amd athlon dualcore 4250e processor. there 35 gb free diskspace on c: (sdd) , 80 gb on e: (mechanical harddisk).

 

the faq says: "what other software running?". not sure, interesting here. using microsoft office, firefox, thunderbrid, norton 360° antivirus , nec spectraview software.

 

many in advance helping this.

just saw, having same problem photoshop elements 8.0. when choose download camera or card reader, updating device list 1 minute, before problem closed following error:

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
