Question regarding recovery of admin password - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hello,

yesterday password backend joomla, started "wrong password"

i changed password last sunday, , have worked week, yesterday didnt!

so now, have question...

i have read this;

change password in database
if admin user still defined, simplest option change password in database known value. requires have access mysql database using phpmyadmin or client.
navigate phpmyadmin , select database joomla! site in left-hand drop-down list box. show database tables on left side of screen.
click on table "jos_users" in list of tables (note: may have prefix not jos_, go _users table prefix).
click on "browse" button in top toolbar. show of users set site.
find user password want change , press edit icon row.
a form display allows edit password field. copy value

into password field , press go button. phpmyadmin should display message "affected rows: 1". @ point, password should changed "secret".
log in user , password , change password of user secure value. check of users using user manager make sure legitimate. if have been hacked, may want change of passwords on site.

that works if system not using salt in pw right?

if want change password of super admin id...
try out this..
go phpmyadmin>> open table jos_users >> click on super admin id >> find there hash key in password area (21232f297a57a5a743894a0e4a801fc3) >> remove ... go link http://www.matthiasraab.com/blog/joomla ... rator.html >> make new password , copy new hash key in password area of database table..
