RAM Requirments, How Much?

i getting new laptop.

windows 7,  i7 quad core 2.6 ghz processor.

ssd boot disc , hybrid data disc

premier elements 10

 

 

how ram need basic video editing premier elements 10?

 

it basic editing of family videos. nothing fancy.

 

 

would 16 gb enough?

 

i can upgrade 32gb it's £133

 

 

i assume file formats need more ram memory actual file size suggests.

 

 

the biggest avi file have 667 mb

 

the biggest mpg file have 289 mb

 

the biggest 3gp file have 377 mb

welcome forum. unfortunately, have posted tips & tricks sub-forum, repository "how to" articles, , like. move post main pre forum, many more "eyes" on it, , suggestions. did not want think post has disappeared.

 

for me, being able use 32gb of ram big plus 64-bit os.

 

in general terms, biggest bang buck have multiple drives, , split i/o load on those. next, , depends on codec used source footage, cpu speed. ram # 3, close contender.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
