Thread: Can't even get past square one. Burning installation iso disc

read tutorials.
downloaded iso file.
it's in "downloads" winrar file.
i'm assuming can't burn winrar file. must extract iso file first.
extract files folder.
i'm assuming can't burn folder disc or new computer won't know it. can't seem load multiple files (all of contents in extracted folder) imgburn.com disc burning utility.
downloaded file not extract 1 file. , f r u s t r t n g l y, , m d d e n n g l y, instructions on of tutorials associated "how download , install ubuntu" seem presume knows how stuff.

please advise?

generally when download disc image, it's .iso file burn directly disc without extracting it. unless you've downloaded wrong thing, suspect you've downloaded .iso file, , it's being displayed in downloads folder winrar icon because winrar can open , extract iso files.
basically, don't extract it. open disc burning software , burn unextracted file you've downloaded directly onto cd.
