Thread: Reinstall single kernel module
i'm making harder ... but, here's did.
noticed wacom bamboo tablet wasn't working after upgraded 10.10 11.04. so, stupidly, ran script had recompile wacom.ko module 10.10. creates invalid module, installs in kernel tree. and, nice kernel _think_ installed gone.
so, thought i'd easy backtrack without doing complete reinstall. ummm...
nope. message: following packages automatically installed , no longer required: ...code:sudo apt-get install --reinstall linux-image
now, i'm not sure of next. if can original i'll ask tablet again (i'm pretty sure wasn't working out of box.).
thanks.
you should able install linux-image through synaptic package manager. find right 1 current kernel. might want delete bad wacom.ko first although default 1 should copy on it. see appendix 6 on linuxwacom how to.
