Thread: Rhythmbox won't transfer FLAC files to Sansa Clip+ : "...strange filetype..."

i have problems when transferring files sansaclip+ 4gb. i'm using rhythmbox on ubuntu 10.10. basically, way i'm able player being recognized @ level select mtp mode (auto doesn't work - lists unknown device in rhythmbox , player briefly displays writing , stays there in silence connected being written on it's display). also, have start rhythmbox first, , connect player usb port (sometimes doesn't work, switch ports - guess doesn't having other devices attached same controller, might wrong here).

anyway, major problem i'm unable send .flac tracks device. when try to, following message:

error transferring track
unable send file mtp device: libmtp_send_track_from_file_descriptor(): don't think track, strange filetype...

flac's have .flac extension (05 - brick in wall [part 2].flac example). strangest thing is, i can send mp3's (haven't tried other supported formats because don't have encoded in them) , know player supports flac (i had used rhythmbox on 10.04 send flacs without problems!)

other, little less annoying problem i can't see µsd card in rhythmbox. files stored on displayed on list under sansa clip+ 4gb, can't control want put new files (they stored in internal memory). when right click on device , select properties, displays memory osed 'songs' (that's internal memory), 950mb marked 'other' (that's µsd card) , free space appears combined free space internal+external).

so, why don't just use msc? can't. when select msc mode, don't se files on internal memory, neither on µsd card. same in windows, msc mode rather useless in case.

have latest firmware (v01.02.15a), system date , last time checked, worked fine on windows xp (except aforementioned non-working msc mode).

so, how make rhythmbox work sansa clip+?
