hi,

prefer downloading files using torrent whenever possible because

a) better speeds
b) pause/resume feature
c) have never got corrupt download using torrent

have no open ports on router. haven't opened ports on os

(ubuntu) side too. despite having ports closed can download/upload

without issues. therefore want know why people open

ports torrents ? what's reason ?

works without port forwarding, port forwarding electronic policeman directing traffic , torrent traffic queen coming through on own without having stop other traffic.

speeds data opening direct path machine , torrent client , every millisecond shaved increases speed.

traffic arrive , @ ports until finds open 1 (imagine turning house , going around checking windows , doors until find 1 open) dedicated port friend telling front door open come straight in.
