GH2 and the BMD HyperDeck Shuttle Record Problems

i have bmd hyperdeck shuttle 2 , records uncompressed , in dnxhd (220) codec.

 

i can import, play , edit files fine, there's major problem makes files useless.

 

static scenes fine except flat , require color correction make them aesthetically acceptable. 

 

the main problem files have horrible interlacing problems... , i'll explain.

 

first of all, doesn't matter whether shoot in fsh, hbr, 24p or don't hit camera record button @ , record cleaned display... same problem occurs, isn't camera setting (i've spent 2 days experimenting different cam settings well).

 

when panning fine interlacing lines.  annoying , unacceptable in own right, gets worst.  once encoded (as in distribution) problem accentuated.  huge lines appear , and make video horrible... unusable.

 

on close inspection of files in pp cs6 can see file filled ghost images, thought result of duplicate frames gh2 has served bmd shuttle 2.

 

i've read fixes , color shift issues, but  a) sound difficult used in practical workflow , @ end of day, may not work.

 

so i'm here hat in hand hoping discussion might yield fruit can me, , others having same problem or looking use shuttle gh2s.

update...

 

i said frames being added, read recording gh2's hdmi port added , deleted frames randomly, , clouded judgment , made me lean in direction,  upon closer inspection (i going experiment manually removing frames) found there no frames per-say.

 

the ghosting described @ heart of problem.

 

when panning each frame appears combination of 2 frames @ different times.  depending on speed of pan (and shutter speed - higher ss closer dual images) interlaced image (half of lines) @ 1 point in time, , (the other half of lines) @ later point in time. 

 

where overlap, image solid, on either side have "ghost" image when played can see through image missing lines are, thereby giving notched edge  effect.

 

and haven't wrapped head around how can fix yet??

two comments.

 

i believe gh2 output 30i on hdmi, no matter record settings choose.  right there have interlaced signal.  largely steered me away external recorders on gh2.  can hack , improve quality of in-camera recording another.

 

go pp's playback settings , make sure it's not set display both fields.  choose upper instead.
