Huge Problem with Adobe Software and PDF files

my computer operating system windows xp pro service pack 3 installed.  running until 2 weeks ago. have windows , adobe set run automatic updates whenever they're available.  i'm not sure adobe update installed, after installed, not open pdf file without computer crashing.  also, whenever try start adobe acrobat pro or photoshop, computer crashes.  tried uninstalling acrobat pro, when tried caused computer crash!  can't uninstall of adobe software!

 

all microsoft software running (word, excel, outlook).  internet browser (ie) working fine.  why adobe software packages , pdf files things not working?  , why can't uninstall of it?  looked see if had acrobat reader installed (free one), windows doesn't list under list of installed programs.  shows acrobat pro, photoshop, flash , few other adobe programs installed.

 

i've used mcafee anti-virus software, , have never had virus problems.  don't think virus, because can open pdf files on other computers without problems.  files aren't affected.

 

how can solve terrible problem, , how can prevent happening again?

not sure version of acrobat running. however, if can not acrobat @ might try repair. go add/remove programs in control panel , select acrobat. when comes up, ask repair. might download latest update http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=windows , reinstall it. when can open acrobat, can check version number under help>about ....

 

i suspect can repairs , updates on photoshop.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
