Thread: 11.04 quiet downloads during nighttime
hello,
have brand new i7-2600k semi-passiv cooled power suppy , 8 gb ram. loudest thing in pc hdd.
of course buy ssd, need storage many videos 1/1,5 tb. ssd quite expansive.
i'm looking around ways switch off hdd during night. problem is, want download torrents during night.
1.) so, first of all, should disable logging. there quicky way completly disable logging?
2.) need boot option "toram"? pc doesn't downloading...so maybe normal cache enough? can switch off hdd without param toram?
3.) need ramdisk, storages downloads , syncs them hdd @ morning. (just around 1 or 2 gb during night)
but, folder in torrents stored has around 1 tb volume. can't tell torrent-client have new downloads in 1 folder during night move them (on hdd) @ morning.
there way increase hdd backwrite time much, download of many hours first stored ram , maybe written down @ morning? or can tell linux not write hdd in specified period of time? , active hdd if needs file hdd not cached?
thing loose downloads, when systems crashes, not important. recharge them.
ideas? what's better way, increasing backwrite time or using sort of ramdisk?
bye
mpw
