Thread: My Ubuntu learning project!

hello linux folks!

name henrik , live in sweden, introduced ubuntu friend , got me excited. understood os should better in possible ways windows. have done have dual booted ubuntu along side windows 7 first os. project's goal master ubuntu own hands , have knownledge of programming language lua, should able understand simple php/css/c++. start focus on learning lua , ubuntu.

why created thread in section becuse whatever i'm learning, example start off installing several programs have on computer. once have done basics try host open-tibia server, it's open source if interested in google it.

first achievements:

• able install program without problems. (for start, spotify, tibia, heroes of newerth, remere's map editor, minecraft , tortoise svn)
  
• get basic knownledge how terminal works , know few commands.
• customize interface, want feel comfortable ubuntu.
• be able write basic lua.
• update latest ubuntu version, don't know version i'm running.

these first goals achieve, post progress in posts below. thread located in general section love if guys write small 'how to' posts possibly me out goals, appreciate it.

what have learned far regarding terminal:

• ps -a this command show processes computer running.
  
• ls this command show paths available or documents/files that's in current directory.
  
• kill 9- id this command kill selected process.
