although have found ideas noble , of intent, sad find hard them find acceptance amongst masses.

idealist , purist, ideas prevent development , innovation money , fame, unfortunately 1 of driving forces human achievement , innovation.

if release software under gnu general public license, have give control on software, modify repackage , redistribute. in our modern software environment appear suicide many developers.

these main points raised after speech during q&a session. developers asked "how can continue earn living model".

answer "most of development of software made companies custom proprietary code own use, that's money , that's okay".

seems annoyed people refer gnu-linux operating systems "linux". said linux part of whole, , gnu operating systems , components in development before linux kernel developed , referring these operating systems "linux operating systems" giving 1 small side credit years of work went gnu.

that's because "modern software environment" (though in no way limited software) full of selfish jerks huge sense of entitlement. "i wrote this, therefore should have complete control on it." well, why should you? doesn't seem obvious me. "but that's law says!" yeah, well, not long ago, law said black person couldn't sit in same bus white pople. ardently hope future generations come see our current copyright laws same sort of absurdities, though don't expect see in lifetime.

"we need make living!" yeah, well, doesn't give pass trample others' freedoms. if need such pass make living, maybe should change jobs. lot of fine people pick left, don't worry.
