Thread: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS w/GNOME: Audio input device setting always reverts to default
$ uname -a
linux boshea-wsl 2.6.32-32-generic #62-ubuntu smp wed apr 20 21:52:38 utc 2011 x86_64 gnu/linux
use logitech usb headset microphone @ work phone conferencing, , reason whenever restart ubuntu (and seemingly @ random times), settings audio input device revert defaults (the internal audio hardware).
can reset usb headset going sound configuration menu (preferences -> sound -> input), if applications use microphone running, need restarted in order make use of newly configured input device.
nice if there way make usb headset default audio input device, @ least while plugged in, don't see way this. i've searched around , not found solutions.
appreciated!

you try run like
at startup. find source name using "pacmd list-source".code:pacmd set-default-source alsa_input.usb-046d_0819_9f13dc90-02-u0x46d0x819.analog-mono
