gud morning ,i new ubntu,nd hav lots of doubts regarding ubuntu.


1).my lap dual boot , hav y5 connecton windows xp,nd im trying 2 instal windows drivers in ubuntu y5,for dat need install ndiswrapper software,afer dat hav idedntify da windows drivers in ubuntu9.04, how can identify?
plz tel me da step step procedure instal windows drivers in ubuntu.

2)problem wth synaptic packge manager, if download package , shows warning not authenticated , how can solve this?
body telling repogitory prob,i changed main server , on , no use.

using ndiswrapper workaround if driver doesn't exist linux. why don't try native method first? is, linux drivers wifi adapter.

1 of other posts, found laptop talking perhaps samsung r528 (please confirm). specs show has core i3-350 processor 2gb ddr3 ram, quite decent configuration modern os.

ubuntu 9.04 (if that's using mentioned) pretty old , no more supported (probably reason of synaptic problems too). why don't try ubuntu 10.04.2 lts? i'd suggest use torrent if decide download it.

being lts release, supported till april 2013, has chance of having native drivers wifi adapter, , hopefully, give no headaches synaptic .

if still want go ndiswrapper way, we'll try here, frankly, should have better luck 10.04.2 lts.

1 more thing:- while in ubuntu, open terminal, enter following command , post output here:

lshw -c network

this tell network adapters may determine if natively supported in newer ubuntu versions or not.
