Redirect component returns unspecified error when used - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i've gone live upgrade 1.5 involved change of template.

looking in redirect component see expired urls. many of old url (2.5 site subfolder of live site). when put in correct new url in redirect manager error message ending in colon nothing after colon:

save failed following error:

new cut & pasted url bar in latestfirefox:
https://www.helptherapist.com/about/resources/mental-health-articles/help-and-hoarding

this happens every url i've tried redirect.

edit: received identical error when tried save content edit home page. use jce editor.

i can save changes in global configuration & can change administrator template bluestork hathor , without error message.

i've changed folder permissions 755 775. no change in behavior.
