Thread: BlackBerry as WiFi

ok, i've spent while searching forums , googling without finding answer.

want use blackberry usb wifi dongle. *don't* want tether , use modem.

use case follows:

  1. i need connect internet airport / train station etc.
  2. company policy says, "use ipass connect hotspots" (if want expenses cover ).
  3. i've used ipass app on blackberry connect net.
  4. i want connect blackberry ubuntu (10.04) laptop , access internet laptop using bb's wifi connection.

of course, if go using windows ipass work fine on laptop. i'm emotionally invested in non - corporate choice of os

or advice gratefully received.

cheers,

crush_157

i don't think there way route traffic through blackberry this.

it's interesting idea.

if can phone upgraded os7 device such bold 9900 or 9930, new (currently leaked) os supports wifi hotspot.

suppose, it's conceivable situation you're talking *might* work then... it's big if.

it's better ask ipass people why support windows, mac , no linux variants @ all.
