Thread: Nvidia Drivers

ok. using 10.04.2 64 bit , have nvidia gt540m gpu. have downloaded driver 275.09.07 (linux 64 bit) nvidia. saved .run file. have given "run program" permissions. now, have tried installing it, nothing. run in terminal operation fails, says need ran root.
can please explain how turn root command can install drivers?

to run root, need use
code:
sudo
command line, or
code:
gksudo
gui.

how executing .run file? through terminal? if yes, put "sudo" (no quotes) before run command. if through gui, type "gksudo nautilus" (again, no quotes) terminal open nautilus file manager root, navigate , run file.

can install nvidia drivers if go applications > system > restricted drivers. prompt password, log in root.
