hi experts,
newbie in linux , trying existing network (1000+ nodes) windows xp ubuntu. need expert opinion u experts on below queries

1) ubuntu right choice windows users ???
2) company using oracle erp, going test oracle application behaviour on linux. need install java run application version trying install older (jre 1.4.02.04). when try install on ubuntu box, throws me error mentioned below

3) there client/server based custom applications have developed on vb.net platform, there utility migrate or run in linux environment?

probably. depend on user, though, different people expect different things out of computer. have want specific things windows available, , have others won't realize aren't using windows unless tells them.

there's file missing. possible can upgrade later version?

linux, inherently, not understand vb code. doubt linux environment able execute vb code. applications have developed using source code linux-readable, c or python. learning new language may or may not want create new application important business. have make decision.

there application called wine, run windows programs. if take time install ubuntu, learn way around it, install wine run windows programs, why bother in first place?

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
