Thread: Unable to see or allocate drive space on install.


i have acer aspire 1 came windows 7 starter , 1gb of ram. needless ran horrible.

trying install ubuntu 11.04 via usb drive.

problem having is, whenever allocate drive space screen shows nothing. box pink not text.

if click on install anyway receive no root file system error.

hard drive has no partitions on it, including no file systems. it's blank , showing in bios.

not know other information useful please ask. can on getting installed appreciated!

welcome uf
please boot ubuntu live cd/usb , select "try ubuntu" when desktop loaded make sure have internet connection , go site below , download boot script. give zip file should extracted in same directory downloaded. produces folder contains script , changelog file.
need cd directory in terminal (for example
code:
 cd downloads/boot_info_script060
if downloaded downloads folder). don't need if downloaded home folder.
enter
code:
sudo bash boot_info_script.sh
this produce results.txt file in same directory downloaded boot script. please copy contents of file , paste them in next post between code tags. code tags click on new reply (not quick reply)and click on # symbol in toolbar.
give full overview of current system.
