Thread: Wicd "Tug of War"
hello everyone, having strange problem wicd, prefer use wireless client. i'm coming kubuntu after long hiatus (been using arch) , i'm using kde version of wicd client.
have wireless-n network in home, have ethernet cable @ desk plug in when i'm stationary. in fact, use ethernet cable unless away desk whatever reason. have wicd setup show ethernet connection, , switch wired connection when available. wireless connection set automatically connect.
here's problem. when boot laptop while ethernet cable plugged in, wireless connection , ethernet connection plays strange "tug of war" match 1 connect, , other cancel out , try connect. basically, wicd sees network cable plugged in , tries enable wired connection, wireless connection tries connect cancelling out wired connect, , wired connection cancels out wireless connection, creates infinite loop , neither connect. if click "abort" , connect 1 of them manually, works. both can't automatic.
strange thing worked fine in arch, using kde version of wicd, set same way. if plugged in wire, disconnect wireless , connect via cable. if unplugged cable switch wireless.
else have problem? hope explanation isn't long kind of hard explain.
