Thread: Cannot access DVD drive in Ubuntu server guest - Virtualbox

i have ubuntu server guest running in virtualbox installed on ubuntu server host.

have set virtual machine using following commands, works well

code:
vboxmanage createvm --name "tmdesk" --register vboxmanage modifyvm "tmdesk" --memory 512 --acpi on --boot1 dvd --nic1 bridged --bridgeadapter1 eth0 vboxmanage createhd --filename tmdesk.vdi --size 15000 vboxmanage storagectl "tmdesk" --name "ide controller" --add ide vboxmanage storageattach "tmdesk" --storagectl "ide controller" --port 0 --device 0 --type hdd --medium tmdesk.vdi vboxmanage storageattach "tmdesk" --storagectl "ide controller" --port 1 --device 0 --type dvddrive --medium /home/user/isos/
i have networking ok , can ssh virtual machine , can access virtual box gui of host on network forwarding x

want able use dvd drive of host machine in guest cannot work.

problem 1
after following set procedure above ubuntu-10.04.2-server-i386.iso attached dvd drive of guest, first question how can remove iso image host dvd drive?

problem 2
how install guestadditions on server? have found lot of guides explaining how on guest ubuntu desktop machine can't find explaining how via command line?

workaround
forwarding virtualbox gui of host machine using x managed delete host drive iso image attached , added new 1 attached vboxguestadditions.iso , managed install guest additions........
....but have still not been able managed add host dvd drive guest system

appreciated

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
