Thread: gnome-2d not found-no graphical display

i installed lubuntu on older computer little hard drive space. tried 3 separate minimal installs of ubuntu, each ended significant issues meant starting on since i'm not ready put kind of time getting pc , going.

install went fine after little updated , installed several packages. explored appearance options , shut down overnight. boots up. log in , gives me error , sends me command line mode. gnome, , familiar gnome....but isn't have have @ point. in fact liked lubuntu desktop considering installing on 1 or both of other ubuntu machines. of course right need know how in graphical display , figure out there.

happen if uninstall gnome- 2.0? there way missing file computer , running? far haven't had luck getting copy on either of other machines external storage.
