Thread: How to reinstall MBR?
hi,
i'm pretty linux noob, need help. reason after accidentally put ubuntu (meerkat) hibernation won't load os upon turning on, shutting computer down same thing. error message: no boot device available, press enter retry.
reason os loads no problem if restarting system. started happening out of blue.
i've reinstalled couple of times off live cd , deleted , reinstalled grub2 no luck.
i'm thinking trying delete , reinstall mbr, don't know safest/best way this. can gparted? can done in terminal? i've seen commands install - mbr ... should use route?
thanks!
reinstalling grub2 reinstalling mbr. if boots fine, there nothing wrong mbr. if won't resume hibernation, there's more subtle problem, bios.
