@moderators: intentionally post here in general thread instead of specific virtualization sub-forum because thought average user (who more visit here there) know possible. hope ok.
bought ideapad z570 laptop sandy bridge intel core i5 processor, 3 gb ram etc.
still have things forced go windows for, had make dual boot system. , went , installed windows 7 because that's lenovo provides drivers for.
dismay, lots of stuff, keyman keyboards, didn't work on windows 7. installed windows xp!
there no drivers latest hardware windows xp. did do?
installed virtualbox on kubuntu , installed windows xp guest system using it!linux/kubuntu takes care of hardware (or that).
installing virtualbox guest addons multiverse enables me share directories between linux host , windows guest, can access files on windows d drive mounting in linux (which default in /etc/fstab anyway) , sharing via virtualbox shared folders.
given intel virtualization acceleration technology inbuilt new processor/chipset, don't feel difference in speed!
posting here in hope catches somebody's imagination. discussion , support please go virtualization sub-forum.
just fyi: linux doesn't have hardware xp-- that's handled virtualbox (indeed, that's purpose).
