Thread: Mounting SATA hard drives


hello. hoping can me me. i've decided move ubuntu xubuntu on aging desktop. opted new installation start clean system. have 2 additional 250gb sata drives working fine under ubuntu, unable mount them in xubuntu. partitioned 40gb ata drive (which use primary drive operating system) working fine. when run "sudo fdisk -l" get:

if try , mount sdc1 "sudo mount /dev/sdc1 /mnt" get:

mount: special device /dev/sdc1 not exist

don't know going on, need these drive mount.

i not know raid or lvm. /dev/dm-0 raid think.

run script download drivers first.

v60 has improved formating , requires code tags make legible. new version zip file have extract .sh run.
install these before running script:
able search lvm partitions if lvm2 package install
# ("apt-get install lvm2" in debian based distros)
# able search linux software raid partitions (md raids) if
# "mdadm" package installed.

sudo apt-get install lvm2
sudo apt-get install mdadm
sudo apt-get install mawk
