Thread: Unable to get Launcher to autohide - covers maximised windows

i got round upgrading 11.04 on weekend, , i'm happy new desktop - except...

in common several others appear unable launcher autohide, except not sudden occurence - has never autohidden, after install.

steps tried include:

1. log out / in , reboot
2. installing compiz config settings manager - have tried options autohide, no change
3. setting autohide none - widescreen laptop wouldn't have been disastrous, maximised windows still fit behind launcher.
4. dragging icons desktop launcher on various workspaces - still no effect.

don't want have resort ubuntu classic, not being able use maximised windows bit of pain.

further suggestions?

first try link tool, http://shallows.bounceme.net/tiki-in...page_ref_id=20 thinking won't change makes easier fishing through ccsm. next thing can think of might interrupt autohide feature on new install possible autohide animation. try changing settings if have not already. make sure don't have other edge triggers set, @ least start with. make sure default settings in place typing...

code:
<alt> <f2> unity --reset
explained here http://shallows.bounceme.net/tiki-in...page_ref_id=21 use linked tweak tool set-up autohide options.

hope helps...
