*****bug*****
i'd re-linking mts files cs6 premier using mac mountain lion. becomes issue when opening project file sent collaborator , both of have same footage each computer located on different drives. requires re-linking media match location on drive.
1. latest update of mountain lion, mac packages avchd file structure single file called avchd (with quicktime logo).
2. in standard mac finder, can open file reveal mts clips thumbnails viewable in quicktime - nice quick @ footage withou having open separate app.
3. can right click on avchd file , "show package contents". gives acces complete avchd file structure down individual mts files in stream folder.
4. however, when within cs6 premier , need re-link file on timeline or media browser stymied avchd file.
5. when try re-link using premier finder window (which looks lot mac finder window buttons) see avchd file. if try open it, file type not supported. if try open package (as described above) option "quick look".
6. currently, work-around i'm aware of rename avchd file in mac finder window else. breaks connection quicktime , allows access full directory structure (you need rename bdmv file else).
7. can re-link files premier timeline since can drill down individual mts files. however, because avchd naming convention starts file names 00000.mts every directory, need hint directory file on timeline comes from.
8. also, work-around, have manually re-link each file. premier not pickup other files in path.
9. experimented renaming directory avchd. restore quicktime icon not functionality. apparently initial renaming breaks fork naming avchd not automatically restore. there away fork back, haven't found yet.
10. updated snow lepeord latest mountain lion part of our transition final cut studio 2 , fcp7. liked ability view mts clips natively in mac finder. wasn't until re-linking requirement discovered flaw.
i've reported adobe support , have confirmed problem.they researching it.
in opinion, programmers need add file drill down capability premier link window solution.
this problem has arisen due mountain liion's latest update packages avchd directory. premier hasn't caught update.
