After Uploading Images, File Permissions are Incorrect - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
i have noticed in past couple weeks after uploading files using media manager, users receiving 500 - internal server error.
after digging little bit, found permissions of these files not same other files in images folder. can go server, change permissions , files work rather cumbersome not person responsible maintaining day day operations of website , person is, isn't technical enough have permissions server.
i upgraded joomla 2.5.8 1.7 in hopes problem resolve itself, did not.
we running joomla 2.5.8 , php 5.3.19 on iis7 within windows server 2008.
any appreciated.

they can many causes generate 500 error, if can not give clue solution quickly. this, have apache error log, every time build 1 of these errors, generates error_log file , insert line indicating reason error , file , line occurred. fix unexpected errors appear on our website.
