Help with install of Yootheme Master Theme Demo Package - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i've heard lot of things yootheme , want try master template. had no problem installing template. wanted install theme demo package. instructions sound easy enough, i'm not having success:

instructions yootheme site:
1.pick theme , download demo package theme downloads.
2.extract .zip file directory on pc.
3.upload ftp or copy extracted directory webserver.
4.create database installation, using tool phpmyadmin in hosting control panel or ask web host directions on doing this.
5.now open webserver's url ( eg: website.com ) in browser address bar , follow joomla or wordpress installation instructions.

i think i'm not understanding step 3. on webserver put these files? and, in place of installing template through joomla administrator?

i tried putting them in directory new theme -- got me "restricted access" when tried step 5. (because overwrote index.php file -- deleted install , tried again , kept originial -- same theme install)

i tried deleting install altogether , copied files "blank" directory -- still got "restricted access" , can't log backend administrator (which makes sense).

seems dumb question, i'm supposed move files, right, not directory created on pc extracted files in it.

also, i'm not sure how database create gets associated site.

thank can give me. sorry if i'm being "thick" today.
