Scatter brush spacing problem

hello,

 

i'm using scatter brush draw multiple lines random size , angle(image 1.), , trying increase horizontal size(image 2.), keeping interval same. when do, interval increased since 'spacing' option follows size of base object.  adjust , decrease spacing value, problem is, spacing option cannot go below 1%. if want increase line size , maintain interval, there's no way it. expending scaling work, that's not want. there way solve this?

if understand correctly.....

 

extend brush path, say, use direct selection tool click , drag 1 of path anchors. don't scale path. @ least vertical size.

 

if need scales brush horizontally, real way ensure art stays relatively close teh brush either ajust brush options or expand brush prior horizontal scaling.
