Thread: How Do I Report a Missing Package Dependancy during an upgrade?
a friend of mine (somewhat new linux) upgraded 10.10 11.04 , os broke upgrade. few minutes of troubleshooting showed culprit pae kernel upgrade decided install since determined had 4gb of physical ram (i wasn't present during upgrade i'm not sure whether asked him or not). more upgrade forgot install linux-headers-generic-pae required closed source nvidia drivers.
i'm not entirely sure how report bug devs. easy fix (after booting non-pae kernel , installing package worked), encouraging users use built-in bug reporting system , i'm not entirely how report update bugs.

*second note* vanilla ubuntu, thread marked variants since primary question (reporting upgrade bugs) applies all.
i ran myself. bug report exists. see: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...rs/+bug/710744, though unclear what, if anything, being done it.
