Thread: NVIDIA drivers install

if have pick single frustrating , persistent issue in ubuntu , ever, installation of nvidia drivers.

after couple of hours of trials & errors, ~might~ have (successfully?) installed new 275.09.07 on ubuntu 10.04.

had add /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf 5 items described in http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1467074

now, "nvidia x server setting" tab shows me 275.09.07 installed , functioning.

but, here problem:
"hardware drivers" tab tells "no proprietary drivers in use on system".

so, what's going on? how know driver being used now?

reading and... replying.

yeah, why want install driver manually , complain it? if don't want frustrations use automatic tool. click "additional drivers" , let detect , install driver you. add ppa https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates , update if want more date version.
