Thread: problem updating

ive been having problem few days trying update 10.04 ubuntu.

this:

apt authentication issue

problem during package list update. package list update failed authentication failure. happens behind network proxy server. please try click on "run action now" button correct problem or update list manually running update manager , clicking on "check".

start , had keys missing managed find out ho gpg.
thought end of get:

not download repository indexes

repository may no longer available or not contacted because of network problems. if available older version of failed index used. otherwise repository ignored. check network connection , ensure repository address in preferences correct.

index files failed download, have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

cairo dock 1 can sort myself , have found on forums, im struggling work out next or how solve these problems.

you're using outdated, "end of life" release. need 10.04 or newer.

recommend fresh reinstall, possible "end of life upgrade:"

(edit) if using 10.04 software sources mess! need delete references jaunty, karmic, except lucid (10.04).
