Thread: winxp does not boot after Ubuntu installation


hello friends,

start in chronological order.

1> win xp pro 2002 installed on pc in c drive, pc has 4 partitions
2>booted ubuntu 11.04 desktop i386 cd, went demo mode have @ os, chose option install os icon on desktop.
3>system hanged during installation (i don't know @ stage)
4>i reboot system, win xp started smoothly, partitions intact
5>i restarted system, boot ubuntu cd , installed os (i think got installed on drive d:, the drive d earlier 41 gb , has become 21 gb)
6>now, whenever start pc, pc takes more time usd take, during delay monitor displays "hz?" indicate no input.
7>after time, ubuntu starts , works properly.

problem: right cannot boot xp anyhow, want option choose os on startup both xp , ubuntu.

1. ubuntu open terminal , run
code:
sudo fdisk -l
lower case l @ end, , report output that.

2. run command
code:
sudo blkid
, again report output.

3. go boot-info-script in signature , follow instructions run script. copy results.txt file , paste between code tags (the # icon in toolbar @ top of entry box).

should give plenty of information can see has happened , suggest next.
