Why did they remove the arrows and shuttle wheel?

it annoyed me no end when years ago adobe removed shuttle wheel after effects, , did premiere. what's point of that? , worse, removed arrow buttons on each side of timeline. freaking kidding me? great improvements premiere cs6 has, , removed elemental tool moving in timeline? try move stupid zoom slider when zoomed in whole timeline showing ten or fifteen seconds, , makes timeline fly @ speed of light in either direction. @ best, can use mouse wheel move little bit, slow hell. idea adobe's programmers have phrase first rule: "don't fix if ain't broken"

 

althought zoom slider nice little addition, it's not replacement arrow buttons. sometimes, need move couple of clips ahead or backwards, , arrow buttons best way it. adobe copy best of other nles, in case vegas, has best way navigate timeline. mouse wheel or down, zooms in or out. mouse wheel shift pressed @ same time, scrolls timeline @ speed useful. zoom slider movement fast it's ridiculous , useless. if @ least included option set speed scrolling, might of use, or @ least if included option set speed of scrolling mouse wheel, useful. way it's useless , makes editor waste lot of time.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
