How can I tell if a non-destructive crop has been applied when opening an image?

i've wrapped head around how reclaim stripped-out portion of image has been non-destructively cropped in cs6: click image crop tool, or select reveal image menu. short of doing every time suspect may have cropped image, there in photoshop's interface tell me @ glance if image has been non-destructively cropped? guess check document dimensions in pop-up status display @ bottom of window, i'm looking more direct doesn't make me search.
