Refresher: Apple in-app purchase requirement

hey, guys,

digging through routine documentation , can't seem find apple's requirement (been while since we've dealt particular topic).

scenario: a client aiming launch new magazine app in newsstand. they'll have @ least 1 auto-renewable subscription (assume 1-yr) set in itunes connect, future in-app purchases.

what know: to in newsstand, know apple requires @ least 1 free issue/folio available consumer.

what can't find:

1.) apple approve app has only 1 free issue , no paid issues available @ launch?

or

2.) apple require mininum of 2 issues @ launch — 1 paid , 1 free?

clearly, latter ideal, when users purchase subscription, can see status of "$x.xx" folio turn "free". however, client wants know if apple approve former.

thanks in advance.

hi josh,

i'm not sure you've got right info. don't have free issues in our free app (you may download here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/journal-current-clinical-care/id417514523?ls=1&mt=8) , there no problem. 1 current issue ok both: subscription , single issue in-app purchases. one, current folio available purchased subscription new ones until 1 year subscription ends.

regards,

gennady
