Thread: Dedicated MySQL slave

hi all,

first post, hope have in right place.

setting virtual ubuntu server act uniquely mysql slave. master not have huge traffic, i'm hoping lie 512 - 1024 m of ram.

size of master is, however, quite large. , after 8 hours or so, dump file still not loaded.

question is, improvements should make temporarily dump file loaded more quickly? should add more ram, more processor power, etc?
