Viewing PDFs while a batch is running

i using adobe acrobat x pro on 64-bit windows 7. every time start batch optimisation job, , try view pdf file unrelated batch job, can see in task manager instance of acrobat has opened, file won't show on screen until batch job has finished (which can hours later). there way around this? tried specifying "/n" switch on acrobat open command, did not help.

install adobe reader x , view file adobe reader.
