What do I need to design Joomla templates? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi,
i have designed 7-8 websites joomla , have css skill change template want. have lot's of ideas want design own joomla templates. work artists design websites artistic rather industrial , business. example have full screen background image, , on. , have interactive javascript.

i can make html , css , jquery ready made plugins (i basic in js).

so start point design joomla template, , assign different module places?
do need know php? if so, professional level? , other languages?

i looked @ http://www.gantry-framework.org/ did not understand lot, if that's related question, great if tell me framework does.

furthermore, advice templating joomla, specially in style (e.g fullscreen bg), appreciated.

if use firefox firebug can locate css easily. can make temporary changes firebug before edit files.

a method of editing files is
  • use firefox/firebug view site
  • use filezilla ftp client open file editing
    (it downloads tmp file on pc , opens in notepad (or can set favourite html/php/css editor). when save changes fz asks if want upload changed file. after selecting upload changes, view site. switch notepad screen edit or undo changes).
    if using xampp on windows can edit css file without needing ftp.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
