Joomla security, server side (hosting-wise) - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

my question this:
how secure, in general, joomla 2.5.7 if joomla admin took necessary measures protect site? after all, there's server joomla physically resides (ie. hosting). well, hosting 1 of best joomla, still...god knows happens behind curtain.
to put simple, without paying hacker try break site, there way make sure it's safe?
i'm not talking fbi or wunderkind hackers here (those surely crack site), i'm asking average hacker (though not kid pretends know hacking).
i'm aware cloud services qualys , alike offer.
last, not least...i'm not asking general public personal opinions (they vary), knows subject enough.
p.s. forgot...hosting environment vs. self-hosting @ home, security-wise?

the short answer "no" system on web exercise in risk management , should take precautions in line value of data. include performing regular backup , keeping copy independent of website.

the security on default joomla installation reasonable can improved. there quite few resources available this:

as systems, security vulnerabilities discovered. joomla, these fixed promptly , patches made available via new joomla release.

it depends on how maintained , secure environment whether service provider or @ home. how updates applied not joomla hosting environment itself? depend on physical security. how secure home? home in area prone natural disasters? taking regular off-site backups. etc.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
