Premiere Pro CS5 won't show black video when play head is in a blank part of the timeline

i'm editing on retail version of premiere pro cs5 version 5.0.3 believe latest update cs5.

for reason when put play head on video clip , pull playhead blank spot on timeline, video preview screen not go black. shows last frame of video playhead on before moved blank space. here picture better explain:premiere pro cs5 timeline issue.jpg

i know hard see if notice, playhead on blank space in time line, yet not showing black video, still showing last frame playhead on before moved blank space. there way fix this? or there doing wrong?

are on mac, or pc?

 

the reason ask first thing pops mind, sort of display issue video driver. on pc, 1 want go mfgr's. web site, , check updated driver vs installed one. on mac, video drivers incorporated os updates. if on mac, have updated os?

 

though should not make difference, test dragging wab past blank area, cti/playhead now, see if things change.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
