Thread: Logging into windows through ubuntu's windows 7 loader

i have windows 7 on c drive. installed ubuntu 11.04 in separate partition. now, default computer boots ubuntu. log windows there 'windows 7 loader' option inside ubuntu logon screen. strange me far computer used ask me select os @ bootup (that wubi installation), , if did nothing woud boot windows. booting windows through windows 7 loader ok? or should change grub bootloader?

also, quite surprised find ubuntu able "see" c-drive , folders without me installing separate software. how possible? (windows 7 not able see ubuntu partition. know needs separate software)

an open source driver (driver not right word strictly speaking) has been available can read/write disks formatted microsoft's ntfs several years now.

microsoft of course don't want support non-microsoft products if can it, there's no native support ext disks in windows. can add-in windows allow reading of ext file systems (but writing not available)
