Thread: Panic - Cannot Mount Partition


help - cannot mount media/sda5, wife's 10.10 machine, partition has user files on! when switch on volume not mounted under nautilus. in nautilus partiton use read homefiles reads sda5 (which physically is). if right click , choose mount message


error mounting: mount exited exit code 1: helper failed with:
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda5,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
in cases useful info found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so

same message if try mount sda5 using system/admin/disk utility.

morning made change , messed up. there short cut folder on partition in top panel stopped working. right clicked on permissions , reset location, following screens selected /media/sda5/name of folder. worked when did morning not after re boot. how can mount sda5? need rename homefiles.

its time run fsck on
