how speed printer? have hp 1300 laserjet works fast enough if print whatever ubuntu calls notepad, or office, try print pdf!

downloaded instructional pdf files, , stupid printer chews on them @ least 20 minutes before thinking printing. ubuntu recognizes printer, , print txt or html files @ speed no problem. printer works ubuntu

length of time pdf files unacceptable. printer not networked or shared.
using lpt port, although use usb.

didn't dl/install adobe reader. i'm using whatever ubuntu has natively. foxit isn't available ubuntu.
