Thread: Ubuntu Cloud - VmWare Esxi

i have done lot of reading , google-ing , utube-ing regarding subject. understand concepts, , setup can do.

question hypervisor concept, fact alreay have vm esxi environment @ home , need utilize cloud experience @ all?

understand current vm images linux, although work, windows images can setup , deployed. plus, benifit ubuntu cloud ability utilize amazon's ec2 moving vm's private public cloud , vice versa, based on need , neccesity.

in honesty need cloud falls down hardware, local hardware you. if can support , create cloud infistructure allow deploy @ , need, awesome. hence referance current esxi setup. have avilability already. yet, have seen ability of interaction of cloud , vm deployment esxi setup, seen in real time, start , deploy esxi system shown in v-sphere client, managable , interactive.

missing regarding "cloud" or in essence form of hypervisor abiltity move , postion needs private , public based on need?

thoughts..

hi,
think you're interested in figuring out whether esxi need or not. esx hypervisor, , hypervisor big component of cloud, it's not everything. things you'd typically missing multitenancy, ability each user directly define , interact own resources on cloud. big one, laying api layer on top of infrastructure. great if api amazon ec2 api well. of not directly in esxi. know vmware has built more cloud oriented products (vcloud?) may have or of features (not following closely). hope reply opens points think about. if you're user of cloud, esxi enough though
