Thread: Want To Create Separate Boot Partition

i using ubuntu 11.04, 32-bit. not of expert linux.

install different linux distribution (probably debian 6) side side ubuntu 11.04, creating dual-boot system.

did research on internet , i've seen recommend grub 2 installed on own partition best way this. 2 distributions need chainlinked in new /boot partition.

came across link way of doing it:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/cr...onafterinstall

on right track?

am on right track?
not think should use without /boot partition grub go's into
sda mbr (master boot record) , fine without seperate partition.
not needed really.
##i believe debian grub comes without os-prober find other installs , put them
in grub. (not positive have install of debian , think debian had
install os-prober.) debian bit more difficult install believe had put my
intel network cards firmware on flashdrive debian install using installer.
have set /etc/sudoers in ubuntu not have to. aware of some
differences in installing. might have google search around bit find answers.
##after install use ubuntu's install boot from.
