What is the workflow for using a Shure X2U USB preamp to record voiceovers in PP CS6.02 for Mac

although have managed shure x2u working pp cs6.02, trial , error method of selecting correct audio hardware , audio output mapping haphazard , causes pp crash every time. "premiere pro 6.0" appears in audio midi setup program , have following selected:

 

built in microphone    2 in

built in input               2 in

built in output            2 out

shure digital              2 in        drift ticked

 

is there method of being able take audio level using program meters before actual recording begins, or have alter levels on fly whilst recording beginning voiceover obtain correct level?

 

using intel i7 macbook pro

i haven't ever used premiere record vo's. address volume question have adjusted volume after recording on with. use windows , in windows have used windows built in volume controls line in. try record loud possible without having bunch of background noise. in post set levels want them whatever edit purposes @ time. i'm sure mac's have sort of line in volume control although might need up.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
