Choppy rendered 1080p video in CS5

i got canon hfg10 produces 1080p24 video natively avchd , i'm playing around basic workflow.  open clip in premiere pro cs5 , export 1080p24 h.264 so, seems me, nothing changing.  resulting video, though, choppy, lots of dropped frames (though else fine, , original clip plays fine in quicktime).  default bit rate in media encoder higher camera's, dialed down match, no apparent improvement.  if export 720p, everything's fine.  there other configuration parameters should adjusting?  i'm running 64-bit version of cs5 on win7 x64 on core i7 970 (six cores, 12 threads) 12 gb of ram, dedicated scratch disk, ssd apps, , 10k rpm hdd data.  thanks.

what sequence settings?
